Update on Registration of Small Sewage Discharges From Septic Tanks and Sewage Treatment Plants

In 6 April 2010 the creation of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (EPR) changed the guidelines regarding discharges of home sewage effluent from small Septic Tanks and Sewerage Treatment Plants.

On the 16th August, the Environment Agency issued a Regulating Position Statement announcing that they are now mutually reviewing the implementation of this legislation with the Government.

How do Septic Tanks Work?
