Let me start by saying that as a new home inspection company, I can’t imagine calling on a real estate office and not having the Home Guide as a part of my presentation. This one single piece of material has allowed me to have immediate credibility as a professional home inspector. Buyers are especially excited about receiving the Home Guide to have as a reference book in their home. As part of our presentation we call the Home Guide an "Owners Manual" for the home. We tell them everything you buy today comes with some type of manual or pamphlet/material that tells the purchaser how it works and how to care for it. Everything except of course a home when you buy it. The Home Guide definitely adds value to our inspection and the way it marriages with the software makes it an easy-to-understand report for everyone involved. We are just completing our first full year in business, with approximately 200 inspections under our belt and we have yet to hear any negative feedback about the Home Guide or the software. I realize this is a business expense item for us but one that we see as an important marketing tool in order for us to set our company apart from the other home inspection companies we compete with.
